Philosophy of Care:

Focus on developing children's emotional, physical, intellectual, linguistic and motor skills.

To help children develop a love of learning, need to stimulate their natural curiosity and spark their interest.

Exemplary Practices:

Every morning the children learn a new word during a special "learning hour". Play activities are then organized to help the kids become comfortable with the new word.

To motivate the children, she recognizes the hard work and achieves of each student at the end of each week. As well, she presents a special achievement trophy to a different student each week.

Recognizing that there are many learning opportunities outside the classroom, Ms. Ouellette Lavoie also takes the children on local field trips and encourages them to participate in community events. For example, she has the children volunteer in the annual spring clean-up. She also encourages the kids to work with people who have special physical or intellectual needs.

Ms. Ouellette Lavoie is dedicated to her profession, and has helped trained more than 25 early childhood educator interns from local community and vocational colleges.
